Microsoft teases new Lumia smartphones at IFA on September 4

Microsoft is sending out press invites for their IFA event in Berlin, Germany on September 4. The invite hints at the likely unveiling of two rumored Lumia Windows Phones - the Lumia 830 and the Lumia 730, which may be introduced during the event.

The Nokia Lumia 830 is expected to be the successor to the Nokia Lumia 820. In the text "Ready for More", the letter "o" happens to resemble the camera module found on an unreleased device, which was supposedly leaked images of the Lumia 830.

The Lumia 830, also known as 'Tesla' or 'Train' is expected to feature a 4.5 inch HD display and a 20MP PureView camera with Zeiss optics and an LED flash. The device is expected to offered at an affordable price so that more customers can enjoy the PureView features usually restricted to the flagships. The Lumia 830 is reportedly headed to AT&T in the U.S. market.

Next we have the test "Join us for more face time" which could hint at the upcoming selfie phone - the Nokia Lumia 730. The Lumia 730, which is codenamed 'Superman' is the successor to the Nokia Lumia 720. It is expected to feature a 4.7 inch HD display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM, a 6.1MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera for selfies.

Both handsets are clearly meant for the mid-range market, as Microsoft has shifted its focus to lower and mid range devices. This is likely in order to give its competitors and partners the opportunity to offer flagship smartphones, as we are likely going to see the Windows Phone version of the HTC One M8 join the holiday lineup of Windows Phones.
