HTC Desire 510 announced as company's first 64-bit capable phone

Meet the HTC Desire 510, a "highly affordable" Android smartphone which aims to bring 4G LTE connectivity to the masses. It also happens to be the company's first 64-bit capable device.

The Desire 510 features a 4.7 inch display with a 480 by 854 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 5 megapixel rear camera, a secondary camera for video calls and a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB of RAM. Interestingly, the Snapdragon 410 is a 64-bit capable processor even though HTC didn't mention it in their press release. On the software side, the Desire 510 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest version of HTC's Sense UI.

The Desire 510 will be available for purchase starting next month in Europe and Asia, along with carriers in the US. Customers in the US will be able to purchase the handset through Sprint, Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile and Cricket. In Europe, the Desire 510 will be available through O2 in September. Though the pricing has not been revealed, we expect it to cost around $200 unlocked based on the value for money HTC is aiming for.
