Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet for Verizon announced, launches on July 17

Verizon has announced that it will offering the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet exclusively on its network in the U.S. You will be able to pre-order the device on Verizon's website starting July 10, or you could pick one up at a Verizon retail store from July 17 onward. Those who choose to pre-order the tablet will get the added benefit of a free pair of MDR-NC31EM noise cancelling earphones (while supplies last).

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is the thinnest and lightest 10 inch tablet in the market. It is only a quarter of an inch thick and weighs under a pound, so portability is one of its strongest selling points. The device's IP58 rating ensures protection against dust and water damage. The device features a 10.1 inch Triluminos display with a 1920 by 1200 pixel resolution, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8.1 megapixel rear camera, a 2.2 megapixel front camera, and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM. Your Xperia Z2 Tablet will run on Verizon's speedy 4G LTE network and will stay powered with a 6000 mAh battery. Additionally the tablet includes PS4 integration and access to the PlayStation Network.

On the software side, you get Android 4.4 KitKat with Sony's custom user interface and apps. Additionally Sony will be including six blockbuster movies , 90 days of free music streaming through Sony Unlimited Music and early access to download "The Amazing Spider-Man 2".

		The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet was officially announced today during Sony's MWC event as the new slimmest and lightest tablet of its class, beating out its own sibling the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.

Verizon is also going to launch accessories for the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, including the SCR12 Style Cover Stand, the BSC10 Bluetooth Speaker with Magnetic Charging Pad, the SRS-X3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker, the CPF-10L Portable Power Supply, and the DK39 Magnetic Charging Dock. Sony's SmartBand and SmartWatch 2 Pro wearables will be offered as well.

Verizon has not revealed the pricing for the Xperia Z2 Tablet, but we will update this post when the information is made available.
