Samsung's first generation smartwatch was based on Android, but when the company decided to switch to their own Tizen platform nobody expected they would release one running Google's Android Wear platform. The Samsung Gear Live is a well designed, affordable alternative to the LG G Watch and it will be interesting to see how it fairs in whats looking to be a very competitive market.
Google's Android Wear platform has its practicalities like its always always on functionality and access to Google Now. However the infant platform has a long way to go before it can be a full fledged smartphone companion.
Priced at just $199, the Gear Live is an easy choice until the Motorola Moto 360 comes along later this year. The Gear Live is a solid offering which does the best it can with Android Wear.
