Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 - Video Review

With the Galaxy Tab 4, Samsung continues its trend of offering affordable tablets to the masses. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is the smallest and cheapest of this year's trio, featuring a 7 inch display and a quad-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM. You get Android 4.4 KitKat customized with Samsung's custom UI with an affordable $199 price which makes it a compelling choice for many.

The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is well built and comfortable to hold in one hand, but its user experience isn't as seamless as you would expect. Especially against its biggest competitor, the Google Nexus 7 (2013). Additionally you could consider the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX, which costs just $30 more and offers a much better performance and higher-resolution display. This of course is if you are willing to trade the family Google experience for an Amazon controlled ecosystem.

Even though the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has hardware which should be willing to run most apps and games comfortably, the poorly optimized custom user interface from Samsung is sometimes sluggish. So even though the Galaxy Tab 4 may be a worthy upgrade over last year's Galaxy Tab 3, it is clearly not the best tablet for the budget user.
