Apple iOS 8.0 beta 2 released to developers

Apple has just released the iOS 8 beta 2 to developers registred in Apple's developer program. Among other things, this build includes performance fixes and general stability improvements. 

The first beta of iOS 8 was released following the WWDC keynote earlier on this month. While the second beta doesn't offer a great deal more in terms of raw features, it is good to see that Apple has polished out all the bugs and performance issues which were found on the initial release, making this new beta much more usable.

Apple's iOS 8.0 brings several new enhancements to the company's mobile platform. These include support for third-party keyboards, widgets on the notification center, and the continuity feature which lets you seamlessly switch between your iPhone, iPad and Mac.

In the past, Apple has rolled out early betas for iPhone only, before eventually offering iPad support later on in the beta cycle. This time, the beta has been made available for all compatible iOS devices which include, the iPhone 4s and newer, iPad 2 and newer, and the fifth-generation iPod touch.

If you want to try out this new beta, you will have to register as an Apple Developer, which costs $99 per year. From there, you can download iOS 8 beta 2 and any subsequent betas that Apple releases for iOS, as well as untested OS X and iTunes software. 

If you already have beta 1 of iOS 8 running, you can simply update via OTA update feature found on the device itself.
