HTC One mini 2 officially announced

HTC One mini 2

The HTC One mini 2 is now official as the successor to last year's HTC One mini and the smaller version of the HTC One M8. Despite sharing design similarities with the One M8, the One mini 2 notably replaces the Duo Camera setup at the back of the device, with a 13MP backside illuminated sensor while packing a more modest set of hardware specifications into a smaller frame.

The HTC One mini 2 features a 4.5 inch touch display with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an additional 5MP front camera, BoomSound stereo speakers, a 2100mAh battery and a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM. Overall the reseult is a decent mid-range device with a premium build quality, which is a worthy upgrade from last year's One mini.

On the software side, you get the latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat coupled with HTC's Sense 6.0 (sixth-sense) user interface, which brings exclusive features like BlinkFeed and Zoe.

The HTC One mini 2 will be available in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold in EMEA countries and Asia from June. There is no news on availability in the U.S. or other regions at this time. The exact price of the One mini 2 will inevitably vary by market, but the midranger shouldn't be hovering much above the 350-400 USD/EUR price range.
