Affordable Windows Phones from Yezz coming soon

Yezz is a smartphone manufacturer based in Miami, USA, known for releasing several Android products. Now the company has announced two new smartphones, running Microsoft's Windows Phone 8.1 OS. The two devices are called Yezz Billy 4.7 (pictured on the left) and Yezz Billy 4.0.

The Yezz Billy 4.7 will feature a 4.7 inch touch display as its name suggests with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution. It also comes with a 13.1MP rear camera, HSPA+ connectivity, dual-SIM capabilities and a quad-core Snapdragon processor.

The Yezz Billy 4.7 claims to be "the world's thinnest mobile device based on Windows Phone 8.1.", measuring at just 7.2mm thin. The handset will also offer the option of  interchangeable back covers (in white, blue, and red). The Billy 4.7 will be released in May and will be available across Europe and Latin America for $249 / €229 unlocked.

Meanwhile the Yezz Billy 4.0 will come with a 4.0 inch touch display, an 8MP rear camera and a quad-core processor. The smaller of the two devices is expected to cost $139 / €129 unlocked.

For those living in the US, you can purchase both the Billy 4.7 and Billy 4.0 in June exclusively through Amazon.

Would you consider purchasing a smartphone from a smaller manufacturer like Yezz? Or would you only consider purchasing phones from brands like Nokia (now Microsoft), Samsung or HTC? With Microsoft dropping royalty fees for Windows Phone, we wouldn't at all be surprised to see more cheap "off brand" smartphones like these cropping up.
