Satya Nadella’s First Email to Microsoft Employees As CEO

Satya Nadella has taken the reigns as the Microsoft's third CEO, following Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. The moves come during a time of great change at Microsoft, which is attempting to transform itself from an aging software giant to a more versatile devices-and-services company. Founder Bill Gates has also transitioned to a new role as technology adviser, from his former position as Chairman.

"During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead Microsoft than Satya Nadella," Gates said in a statement. "His vision for how technology will be used and experienced around the world is exactly what Microsoft needs as the company enters its next chapter of expanded product innovation and growth."

Following his appointment as Microsoft's CEO, Nadella has sent out his first email to Microsoft Employees under his new position.
