Nokia Lumia Black Update now rolling out for the AT&T Lumia 920 and Lumia 820

The Nokia Lumia Black software update is now rolling out for the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820 on the AT&T network. The update which includes Microsoft's Windows Phone Update 3 (GDR3) first started rolling out for the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the Nokia Lumia 925 and has been reaching other Lumia handsets since.

With Lumia Black your device will receive several new features and improvements to both handsets including improvements in imaging, app updates and support for new Nokia apps, like: Storyteller, Nokia Camera, Nokia Beamer and Nokia Refocus. Both Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 users should also notice improvements in their camera after installing the update.

The update will be pushed to your device OTA (over-the-air) and you will receive a notification when it is available for your device. You can also manually check for the update by heading to  Settings > Phone Update > Check for Updates. Such updates are generally rolled out in phases, so it may not appear on your device immediately.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is currently being offered for free on contract through AT&T. You could also purchase the handset for $299.99 if you are not willing to sign an agreement with the carrier. The Lumia 820 has currently been discontinued by the carrier, but should be available through online retailers like Amazon.
