Google Now coming to Chrome very soon

There have been several hints that Google Now is making its way to the Chrome web browser for some time, but we maybe closer than ever to its launch. Most recently we have been seeing a pop-up notification which asks if we would like to "Enable Google Now Cards".

The prompt seems is appearing on both the Windows and Mac version of Chrome. On Windows the card appears in the status bar along the bottom, while on Mac OS X it is in the menu bar up top.

Once Google Now for Chrome is ready for use it should offer notifications, directions, TV shows, sports scores and more, similar to what we have on our Android smartphones and tablets.

Google Now will continue to extend on the rich notification center which was released with Chrome version 28 which allows notifications from services like Gmail, Twitter, Google Calendar, Tweetdeck and more. We also expect Google Now will be integrated into the Google Voice search which came with version 27 of Chrome. The Voice search looks almost identical to the Google Now search on Android and it would make sense to offer voice commands for various Google Now cards.

While we are still unable to see the level of information that will be displayed on Google Now for Chrome, we are definitely excited by how rich the Chrome web browser has become over the last few months.
