How much will the Motorola Moto X cost off contract ?

When the Motorola Moto X was announced may were hoping that it would be priced competitively with the Google Nexus 4 which only costs $299 on the Google Play Store. However it turned out that the $199 for 16GB and $249 for 32GB were subsidized prices which required users to sign a two-year contract with a carrier.

It turns out that the Moto X will have a premium $575 price for its 16GB version when purchased without a contract. The 32GB model will cost you $629 which is in line with most of the modern flagship models from other manufactures.

While some may argue that the Moto X is a mid ranger because of its 720p display and dual-core processor, Motorola has built a very capable device with their X8 Mobile Computing System, which is capable of giving the current flagships a run for their money.

In any case Motorola is reportedly working on a more affordable variant of the Moto X aimed at emerging markets and we will hopefully find something more affordable that countries which don’t offer subsidies can offer their customers.
