Sony Xperia M officially announced

The mid-range Sony Xperia M was announced today with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean onboard. The device features a 4.0 inch TFT touch display, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 5 megapixel Exmor RS camera capable of 720p HD video capture at 30 frames per second, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

The Xperia M is also quite compact weighing 124 grams and measuring a thickness of 9.3 millimeters. Below the display you will find the typical for Sony smartphones RGB light strip, displaying colorful alerts for missed calls or pending notifications.

The included battery is capable of offering 10 hours of battery life which can be expanded with the use of the built-in stamina mode, which switches off the device radios when they are not in use.

The Sony Xperia M will be available in black, white, and purple. A yellow dual-SIM variant of the handset is also in the works. If you want to get your hands on this device you can do so in the third quarter of 2013 and while priceing has yet to be announced it is expected to vary between regions.
