The Shazam for iOS app has been updated to version 6.1.0 and introduces Pulse discovery among other new features and improvements. Shazam for iOS allows you to recognizes music and media playing around you by tapping the Shazam button to tag, explore, share and comment on what you hear.

The Shazam for iOS 6.1 update brings Shazam Pulse which lets you discover music by sampling of what’s being tagged right now. To find it on your iPad, swipe right on the home screen. To find it on your iPhone swipe right in Pulse.

The update also has the following new features and improvements,

For the iPhone:

• Friends – Smoother loading 
• New look tab bar:
• Settings is now located on the top left of the home screen
• When a Friend tags, they appear in the tab bar
• Chart updates are displayed in the tab bar

And for the iPad:

• Easier to delete tags from Favorites, tap edit then select tags
• Improved stability in Friends feed
