Dell XPS 11 announced with high-res display and a 360 flip

Amidst announcements from Samsung, Acer and Asus, Dell has announced the XPS 11 - A convertible tablet/notebook which runs Windows 8. The device has a 11.6 inch display which has a very generous 2560 by 1440 pixel resolution and is powered by a powerful  Core i5 Haswell processor.

It has an unorthodox keyboard with flat keys which are similar to the Microsoft Surface Touch Cover which is capable of rotating a full 360 degrees backward, converting it into a tablet when needed. An action we are familiar with through the Lenovo Yoga series. When the keyboard rotates past 180 degrees it turns off leaving you to enjoy a full touch experience.

Dell has also included a pressure-sensitive stylus which can be used for doodling, sketching and handwriting. In terms of connectivity you have USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt. The XPS 11 is built into a carbon and metal chassis which weighs just 2.5 pounds (1.1 kilos) and is 15 mm thin. Dell hasn't revealed information on RAM, storage or pricing at this point, but we should know more before the device launches closer to the holiday shopping season later this year.
