Google Maps for iOS updated (1.1)

Google Maps for iOS has been updated to version 1.1 and brings a few new features and improvements. Google Maps for iOS is a new addition to the platform since Apple discontinued the Google powered mapping solution in favor of their own in iOS 6.0 and above.

Google Maps for iOS version 1.1 has the following new features and improvements:

• Search your Google Contacts; sign in to have your saved addresses show up when you search for friends and family by name. 
• Quickly search for local places by selecting popular categories such as restaurants, bars, cafes, gas stations, etc. 
• Choose between Kilometers or Miles for your preferred distance units.
• Note that some features may not be available in all countries.
