Microsoft Surface Pro with 128GB will be back in stock on Saturday

Microsoft probably underestimated the demand for their Microsoft Surface Pro because they managed to sell out all of their initial 128GB units within just a few hours of the launch day. This model is somewhat overpriced at $999, but that didn't stop customers from going after it.

It wasn't just the Microsoft online stores which ran out of tablet, with Staples’ website also reporting that they had run out of stock by the end of Saturday.

The good news is that you wont have to wait long before the 128GB version of the Surface Pro is back in stock. A tweet from Panos Panay, GM of the Microsoft Surface line, stated that the 128GB model of the slate will be re-stocked on Saturday while the 64GB model, which also sold-out, is being re-stocked today.

Despite the sell out reports, reports suggest that Microsoft only had 20,000 Surface Pro tablets in stock on launch date which indicates that the “Sell Out” may have been to help drum up some buzz.

In case there is any confusion, the Microsoft Surface Pro offers a full Windows 8 experience similar to what you will get on your regular computers or laptops. The device features a features a 10.6-inch full-HD touch display, up to 128GB of internal storage, a full-USB 3.0 port, and is powered by Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor.

Meanwhile the more affordable yet strikingly similar Microsoft Surface RT is powered by an ARM processor with the Apple iPad and Android tablets. The Surface RT is also restricted to downloading apps through the Windows Store, while the Surface Pro can run any Windows app.
