This is not the first leak indicating the existence of this update as we have seen a video of Android 4.2.2 running on a Nexus 4. There have also been reports that new Nexus 4 units in Brazil had Android 4.2.2 out of the box.

The Android 4.2.2 update is reportedly being tested by Google employees on all Nexus devices – Google Galaxy Nexus, Google Nexus 4, Google Nexus 7 and Google Nexus 10 – and that the update is close to being released. There is very little information about this update other than its aim to fix bugs, but it is also expedited to fix the stuttering audio issue when using a Bluetooth headset with the Nexus 7.

With the reports suggesting that the update will be released in mid-February we won't have long to see if these were just rumors of if the newest Nexus devices will get one more update before Android Key Lime Pie.
