What's new in BlackBerry 10

BlackBerry (as RIM is now called) has announced their brand new BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system, thus ushering in a whole new era that will determine the future of the company.  The company has spent a great deal of time and effort preparing their solution to the post PC era and it looks like the have done a great product which not only looks different but stands outs among its competitors.

BlackBerry has also managed to get good developer support in time for the launch with their BlackBerry World store featuring 70,000 apps. This is the most that any mobile operating system has featured at launch and shows that BlackBerry has preferred to have a fully functional platform launch, rather than have their clients wait for the major apps to arrive.

In order to help their new users get a better idea of the new BB10 platform, the BlackBerry team have put together a series of video walkthroughs which will help you navigate through the operating system.

The new BB10 operating system is demonstrated through two new devices.

The BlackBerry Z10 is a full touch device which features a 4.2 inch touch display with a 768 x 1280 pixel resolution, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD videocapture, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM.

Meanwhile the BlackBerry Q10 with a full QWERTY keyboard features a 3.1 OLED display with a 720 x 720 pixel resolution, a physical QWERTY keyboard and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM.
