RIM branding dropped, will be known as BlackBerry in future

Research in Motion (RIM) has decided to drop the RIM name altogether adopting BlackBerry as the name of the company. This means that future devices like the full touch BlackBerry Z10 and the QWERTY bearing BlackBerry Q10 will not include RIM in their names.

This move comes in time of the BlackBerry 10 launch and will be a great way to strengthen the BlackBerry brand name moving forward. In any case RIM’s products have generally been better associated with the BlackBerry name, so we wonder if this change will even be noticed by the consumers.
