Traditional gamers will have the option of using the Wii U Pro Controller, which will be sold separately. These controllers will feature standard control sticks, buttons and triggers. This controller will allow the Nintendo Wii U to compete better with the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360.



The Nintendo Wii U is backward compatible with the Nintendo Wii, and Wii U games can support compatibility with Wii peripherals like the Wii Remote Plus and the Nunchuk. However it will be compatible with Nintendo Gamecube discs or peripherals.
