The HD offers a higher resolution of 1280 x 800 compared to the Kindle Fire 2 which has 1024 x 600. The Kindle Fire 2 is an update for those who purchased the first Kindle Fire and offers a 40% speed increase over its predecessor.
The Kindle Fire lineup comes deeply integrated with Amazon's rich services and will not feature the Google Play Store or Google apps.
The Amazon Kindle Fire 2 will cost you $159 and has 8GB of storage, while the Kindle Fire HD can be purchased for $199 with 16GB or $249 with 32GB of storage. All Amazon purchased content will be stored on the Amazon Cloud and will not impact your device storage.
