[Guide] How to root the Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-i9300) with CF-Root


The features a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD display, 8 megapixel intelligent camera in the rear which is capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary front facing camera, up to 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, and is powered by a quad core processor.

The following guide will show you how to root your Samsung Galaxy S III using CF-Root, which is one of the easiest ways to get this done.

[NOTE] This root method is only valid for the International variant of the Galaxy S III (GT-i9300) and should not be used on the U.S. carrier variants. You can check your model by heading over to Settings > About Device > Model Number.

  1. Download ODIN 1.85 – This is required to flash the CF-Root package to your device.

  2. Download and extract the CF-Root-SGS3-v6.0.zip
    • The extracted file should be CF-Root-SGS3-v6.0.tar-
  3. Make sure your device is not connected to your computer and run ODIN.

  4. Click PDA and select the CF-Root .tar file you downloaded in Step 2.

  5. Switch your device off
    • Hold Volume Down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously.
    • Your device will boot into Download Mode.
    • Now connect your device to your computer

  6. Make sure that the Repartition option has been selected
    • Click Start
    • Once ODIN completes its process
That’s it. Your Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-i9300) has now been rooted.
