More updates coming to first generation Symbian^3 devices

Since the Nokia Belle FP1 update will be limited to only a select few Nokia devices, the chances of devices like the Nokia N8 and the Nokia E7 getting future updates became suddenly questionable. However, a recent post on Nokia Discussions gave assurance that Nokia was not done with updating their older Symbian handsets.

Nokia Belle FP1 which will debut on the Nokia PureView 808 will only make it's way to the Nokia 603, Nokia 700 and Nokia 701. The reason behind the selection was blamed on the hardware limitations of the older devices which also means the chances of those devices seeing Nokia Carla and Nokia Donna suddenly grew very slim.

In the post, John Tesla, a moderator on Nokia Discussions gives hope that the older devices will see some sort of future updates, probably even lite versions of the Symbian iterations.

The Belle feature pack 1 will indeed be made available for Nokia 603, Nokia 700 and Nokia 701. Although Nokia is gathering feedback about the Belle release, expect more changes and fixes soon for 1st generation Symbian 3 devices. Stay tuned!
