Open webOS 1.0 coming in September

After HP decided to stop manufacturing devices running WebOS they promised to keep it alive as an open source project. While the company did not reveal much details of their plans on the Open Source version of WebOS a report suggests that Open WebOS 1.0 will be available in September.

Along with this news HP has also released version 1.0 of their Javascript based Enyo framework for Javascript apps. The release shows that version 2.0 will allows apps to be developed for WebOS to run on other platforms and browsers.
