Samsung Galaxy S III will receive firmware update to fix bricking issue

Certain Samsung Galaxy S III users with the 16GB variants  have found their devices being bricked 150 to 200 days after initial activation. Samsung was replacing affected units including the rooted devices which were under warranty. Samsung is now readying an update which is set to fix this update.

Unfortunately there is no indication on when Samsung will push this update and users who are facing this issue are being advised to visit  a Samsung Repair Center until it is ready to get your device replaced.

So if you own a 16GB Galaxy S III which hasn’t come across this issue, Samsung will fix it soon to make sure it doesn't happen.
