Samsung and Google schedule event for October 11

News has been made available regarding an upcoming Samsung event titled UNPACKED 2011 - Google Episode. The invitation referes to a look at whats new from Android. This promises to be the revelation of the Nexus Prime - The third device from the Nexus series which is rumored to be developed by Samsung and will run the latest Android OS - Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).

The event which will be held in San Diego California is set to start at 11:30 AM Pacific Time, and the clues on the invitation points towards it being Android centered.

Not much is known about the Nexus Prime, even its name has been shrouded by uncertainty, with reports even pointing towards it being exclusive to Verizon.  While this seams unlikely, especially since Google has made the Nexus S available across most of the major carriers.

ICS which is said to debut on the Nexus Prime is the latest update to the Android operating system. It is stated to be the most ambitious release on the platform to date and will unify the smartphone and tablet versions of the mobile operating system.
