Google turns 13

Google today celebrates it's 13th birthday, marking the companies first step into it's teens. Google moves into it's teen years midst heavy competition from Facebook which is working on becoming the default point of access for people accessing the internet.

Google announced it's birthday rather quietly in the form of Doodle representing it's milestone in Internet cyberspace. Statistics show that Google dominates the global internet search market with 90% of the shares.
Google has been working on building its on social network in Google+ which introduced features which were then not available on Facebook. But Facebook has since continued to build up their platform continuing to pressure Google's online dominance.

Research today shows that internet users in the US spend more time on Facebook than on any other website.
