Microsoft IE10 Platform Preview released

Microsoft IE10 Platform Preview released

Microsoft has released a platform preview of Internet Explorer (IE) 10, just weeks after the release of IE9. The new version of IE was presented during the MIX11 conference in Las Vegas. Both Google and Mozilla work hard and churning out new versions of their browsers, and it is nice to see Microsoft put the pressure right back on it's competition.

Internet Explorer version 10 has the following new features:
  • CSS3 Multi-column Layout
  • CSS3 Grid Layout
  • CSS3 Flexible Box Layout
  • CSS3 Gradients
  • ECMAScript5 Strict Mode
Microsoft promises a new Platform Preview release every 12 weeks, and a beta release of the new browser by September this year. This will likely be in line with a public beta release of Windows 8.

IE10 Platform Preview is currently only compatible with Windows 7 (32-bit/64-bit) and can be downloaded here.
