Nokia N900 wont officially receive Meego

The Nokia N900 recently received the PR 1.2 software update. However it was announced that the recently released handset will not be receiving an official port to Meego.

This may be disappointing to may to hear, but its not unexpected.

Nokia has made it a practice not to update the core OS of their mobiles in the past, and the hope of seeing an official Meego release for the N900 is very unlikely. The good news is that the N900 is being used as a test platform for Meego. And while end users can expect to see a Nokia/intel Meego based device soon, the N900 community can get their hands on Meego via the Meego community.

I am sure Nokia already has N900's successor hidden in the shadows. However the N900 reigns supreme right now and will do so for the near future with or without Meego.
