The Xbox is designed and manufactured by Microsoft. It was released in the US on February 22, 2002 and in Europe and Australia on March 14, 2002. The device supports CD and DVD media. You can also download content to the device hard drive. Microsoft released the XBox Live online gaming service on November 15, 2002 to complement  the overall gaming experience. With a subscription you can access online content and download it onto your device hard drive.
